One afternoon, three weeks ago, Terry decided to take his pet snake out for a walk. He carefully placed the snake, named Slinky, near the car and got in, but Slinky was too quick for him and had already slithered into the car. At the park, Terry took Slinky out of the car and began to play with him. After a while, he carefully placed Slinky back into his basket and settled down to read a book. Fifteen minutes later, he glanced at the basket and gasped. Slinky was gone! Terry frantically looked everywhere, shouting Slinky's name. Panicked, he even called the police. People in the park became scared and started to leave. The police searched, but they couldn't find Slinky anywhere. Sad and defeated, Terry drove home. As he got out of the car, he noticed something moving on the floor. There was Slinky, curled up and fast asleep. Terry was overjoyed and gave Slinky a big hug. It had been quite a day, but it ended happily for both of them.
