Present Simple Tense - Negative Forms
To write the full and short negative forms of a sentence in the Present Simple, we use the auxiliary verb 'do'/'does' with 'not'.
Full Negative Form:
This form uses 'do not' or 'does not' before the main verb.
- For 'I', 'you', 'we', 'they': subject + do not (don't) + base form of the verb.
- For 'he', 'she', 'it': subject + does not (doesn't) + base form of the verb.
Short Negative Form:
This form uses the contracted version of 'do not' or 'does not': 'don't' or 'doesn't'.
- For 'I', 'you', 'we', 'they': subject + don't + base form of the verb.
- For 'he', 'she', 'it': subject + doesn't + base form of the verb.
Example using 'Vasya runs in the park in the morning.':
- Full Negative: Vasya does not run in the park in the morning.
- Short Negative: Vasya doesn't run in the park in the morning.
Example using 'I see my friends every day.':
- Full Negative: I do not see my friends every day.
- Short Negative: I don't see my friends every day.
Answer: Full Negative: do not / does not + verb. Short Negative: don't / doesn't + verb.
