Past Simple of regular verbs

The Past Simple is formed by adding '-ed' to the base form of the verb. For verbs ending in 'e', we just add '-d'. For verbs ending in a consonant + 'y', we change 'y' to 'i' and add '-ed'. For one-syllable verbs ending in a consonant-vowel-consonant, we double the last consonant before adding '-ed'.
